"Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" is about to hit the box office

The Little Mermaid came in at No. 2 in its second weekend, and the new horror film The Boogeyman came in at No. 3 with $12.3 million.
 
The sequel opened with $120.5 million in North America, far ahead of expectations and the third-biggest opening for an animated film, as well as Sony Animation's best not adjusted for inflation. It is also the second largest discovery of 2023 to date. The film, which easily took first place, boasts both brilliant reviews and audience ratings.
 
Spider-Verse also flexed its muscles overseas, opening $88.1 million in 57 markets for $208.6 million worldwide.
